From the recording Nowever
I wrote this song from the perspective of Bella and Roger, trying to describe what they experience when we're away from them. I've been told before that pets can think that when you leave each day you might not come back to them. The song dramatises this concept from a dogs point of view.
Lyrics
Mama come home,
‘Cause I feel like you’ve left me alone, on my own.
Never knowing when you’ll return.
Caged or free.
With no love there’s no way I can ever be me,
So return or say goodbye,
So I know what I await.
Mama come home
‘Cause I feel like you don’t love.
Mama come home.
Like a fish in a bowl,
Thoughts go ‘round and ‘round, come in and out,
Wondering what I’ll do if you don’t return.
Why?
Mama come home
‘Cause I feel like you don’t love.
Mama come home.
